Fred Carl Wiegert, whose name was given as Johann Karl Friedrich Wiegert in his confirmation record, was the 9th of 10 children born to Christoph Wiegert and Mary nee Warncke Wiegert. He married Anna Marie Lohmann on 24 Nov 1904 in St. John Lutheran Church south of Lincoln, Kansas in Lincoln County.
They had five children: Alvin, Ora Louise, Richard, Ethel, and Chester.
The 1910 census showed them to be living in Kingman, Kansas where Fred farmed. When Fred registered for the WWI draft, they were in Texline, Dallam County, Texas where again Fred farmed. The 1930 census recorded them in Espanola, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico where Fred was working as a blademan for the highway, and married to "Minnie". Again, it is not clear if Minnie and Mildred were the same person, or if Fred divorced Minnie and married Mildred.
It is unclear, but apparently Fred and Anna divorced, as she was living in Wichita in 1951 and Fred's obituary stated that his wife's name was Mildred. Anna ended up in California where her older daughter Ora had gone, and is buried at Crestline Memorial in Riverside.
