Herman John Edward Wiegert, son of Christoph Wiegert and his wife Mary, nee Warnke, was born April 19, 1877, in Cook county, Ill. He was baptized April 25 by the Rev. H. Ramlow.
In 1879 he came with his parents to Lincoln, Kan., and attended the Lutheran school. He was confirmed April 10, 1892, by Rev. J.M. Hahn and remained a faithful member of the St. John's Lutheran church.
On Aug. 28, 1902, he was united in marriage with Lena Tatkenhorst. To this union three sons were born: George, Alfred and Walter.
Mr. Wiegert passed away suddenly July 30, 1946, at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 11 days. He leaves to mourn his passing his grief-stricken widow, Mrs. Lena Wiegert, three sons, George, Alfred and Walter, three daughters-in-law, all of Lincoln; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Steinhaus of Lincoln, Mrs. Mary Woller of Denver, Mrs. Helena Weber of Lincoln, his twin sister, Mrs. Anna Tarning of Lincoln; two brothers, Edward Wiegert of Phoenix, Ariz., Samuel Wiegert of Fairbury, Neb. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William, George and Fredric Wiegert.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 2, from the St. John's Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. E. Bickel. Interment was made in St. John's cemetery.
