Lena Wiegert

Lena Tatkenhorst Wiegert was born October 7, 1884, in Batholomew County, Indiana, to Wil
helm and Elise Meier Tatkenhorst. She was baptized into the Christian faith at St. John Lutheran Church, White Creek, Indiana, by Pastor G. Markworth on October 26, 1884. With her family she moved to Lincoln County, Kansas, at the age of seven and was later confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Lincoln, by Pastor Hahn on April 3, 1898.
On August 28, 1902, she was joined in marriage to Herman Wiegert by Pastor J. H. Hoyer. Their union was blessed with three sons.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Lincoln, and of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Mrs. Wiegert died Wednesday, Jun 5, 1985, at the Lincoln County Hospital after a short illness. She was 100 years, seven months and 30 days old.
Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Herman in 1946; a son, George, Jun 17, 1965; a son, Alfred, March 8, 1969; a grandson, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Walter, Lincoln; six grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 1985, at the St. John Lutheran Church, the Rev. Gerald Radtke officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Hall Mortuary, Lincoln, was in charge of the services.
Memorials may be made to the church or the Lincoln County Hospital.
