Tully, the oldest son of Bernard and Bridget Slavin was born in Louisville, KY. Tully was raised in the Mt. Pleasant NY area, attended North Tarrytown schools and was working in the local shoe factory by the time he was sixteen. On September 25, 1881, at the age of 19, he married Ellen T. Martin. They were the parents of nine children, four of whom survived to adulthood. After Ellen's death, Tully married Jennie Hughes in 1903 and sired five additional children. Tully was active in the Catholic Church throughout his life, joining the Holy Name Society at St. Teresa of Avila Church in 1888. He was a lecturer and a charter member of the St. Elmo Council of the Knights of Columbus. In 1902, he moved to Yonkers where he was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary’s Church. He worked for the New York Central Railroad for 40 years retiring at age 69 in 1931. He is buried with his first wife Ellen Martin.

South entrance road, left at the fork. Lone Valley section is just before the section with a tall wall and before the bridge on the right. There are two sets of stone steps; stand between them and the grave will be directly in front of you.
