William Franklin Holland was the third child of Benjamin Yarborough and Matilda Hamilton Holland born October of 1854 on Pleasant Plains (Now Blanche), Lincoln Co, TN. near Kelly's Creek. Bill lived at home with his parents until he married Martha Jane "Mattie" Hill on December 5th, 1880. They had three children;
1)Lida Eurena Holland, born May 1883.
2)Katie Flint Holland, born Dec. 1887.
3)Un-named child, born Aug. 7th, 1894. Mattie and the baby both died as a result of complications of the birth. Mattie passed away Aug. 8th, 1894 and the baby survived up to Aug. 22nd, 1894.
Mattie and the child are buried at Boonshill-Lebenon Church in Lincoln County, TN.

William married Nannie(Nancy?) Cordelia Taft on Jan. 14th, 1897 and by 1900 moved his family to Huntsville, Alabama where his older brother Edd and a younger brother Rube lived. It is believed this move was to gain employment at Dallas Manufacturing, a cotton mill. William and Nannie had four children;
1)Lena Bell Holland, born Dec. 27,1897.
2)Annie Mae Holland, born Jul. 9, 1900.
3)Virgie Lee Holland, born Oct. 20, 1903.

As William passed away later the year of Willies birth in December, that left Nannie raising 4 young children on her own. Nannie passed away almost two years later due to cancer on Oct. of 1908 and the children were sent to an orphanage in Clarksville, TN.
