Reubin married Cynthia Roach, Daughter of James and Susan Hall Roach, about 1880. They moved to western TN where most if not all of their 6 children were born. The family then moved to Huntsville, AL, where Rube had two brothers living, Edd & Bill.

Rube died shortly before 1900 before he was 45 years of age. It is unknown what happened to his wife, the children were divided up and sent to live with Uncles and Aunts. One of his grand-daughters believes he is buried at Delrose Cemetery in Lincoln County, TN. To date the grave has not been located.
