Elizabeth (Sally B.) Holland was the ninth child of Benjamin Yarborough and Matilda Hamilton HOLLAND. Born February 1870 at Pleasant Plains (Now Blanche), Lincoln County, TN near Kelly's Creek. 1870 is also the same year that Plesant Plains was changed to Blanche. The name change was due to there being annother post office with the same name. It was changed to the name of the new postmasters daughter, Blanche.

It is uncertain what Elizabeth was known by as in the US Census Lincoln County, TN in 1870 (Pg 11) she is listed as Sally B. and in the 1880 Census (Vol 20, ED 128, Sh 1, L50) she is listed as Elizabeth. Sally is a common nickname for Sarah and Betsy for Elizabeth in thise times, therefore it is possible her name was Sarah Elizabeth and called Sally B. (or Betsy) for short.

One relative relates how one of her grandfathers younger sisters died of a brain hemmorrhage after carrying a basket of wash on her head. Her grandfather was Henry Holland, son of Benjamin and Matilda HOLLAND. There were only two sisters and the 1880 census proves the older one alive at 18 and there are a few references to her later on in life. No other information has been found on Elizabeth beyond age 10 on the 1880 census mentioned above. The evidence points to her as being the victim of the brain hemmorrhage.
