Laona Man Dies of Heart Attack

Donald John Gilligan, 45, of Laona, died suddenly of a heart attack at 7:45 yesterday morning while at work at the Connor Lumber & Land Company mill in Laona.

Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning by Father S.A. Stern at Halverson Funeral Home in Crandon. Interment will be in the Laona Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 o'clock Friday afternoon.

Deceased was born Oct. 1, 1909, in Suring, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Gilligan. He was married on March 5, 1937, to Gladys Wood. In 1939 they came to Laona where he was employed at the Connor mill.

Surviving besides his wife, are his father of Suring; six daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Leola) Jensen of Waukesha. Carol, Germaine, Virginia, Ruth, and L'auren of Laona; five sons Donald Jr., Thomas, Richard, Kelly, and Daniel of Laona; four sisters, Mrs. Erwin (Evelyn) Kesler of Kelly Lake, Mrs. Leola Baccus of Fond du lac and Mrs. Edward (Betty) Conley Jr. and Mrs. Lester (Ellen) Ludeman of Laona, and two brothers, Norbert Gilligan of Laona and Bernard Gilligan of Suring.

His mother and two brothers, Howard and Thomas, preceded him in death.

Donald Gilliga Funeral Saturday

LAONA, Wis - Funeral services for Donald J. Gilligan, 45, who died following a heart attach while at work Wednesday morning, will be held at the Halverson Funeral Home in Crandon at 9 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. S.A. Stern will officiate and burial will be in the Laona Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Friday until the time of the services.

Mr. Gilligan was born at Suring on Oct. 1, 1909 and moved to Laona in 1939. He was married to Gladys Wood on March 5, 1937. He had been employed at the Connors Lumber and Land Co. here.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his father, Thomas Gilligan; six daughters, Mrs. Ronald Jensen, Waukesha, and Carol, Germaine, Virginia, Ruth and Lauren, all at home; five sons, Donald Jr., Thomas, Richard, Kelly and Daniel, all at home; four sisters, Mrs. Erwin Kesler, Kelly Lake; Mrs. Leola Baccus, Fond du lac; and Mrs. Edward Conley and Mrs. Lester Ludeman, both of Laona; two brothers, Norbert, Laona, and Bernard, Suring.
