Name: Marjorie Spencer
Date Of Death: 25 Nov 1943
Age: 42
Gender: Female
Father Name: Chauncey Simons
Mother Name: Lizzie Beekman
Death Place: Lakeview, Pierce, Washington

After Chauncey Simons and Elizabeth Beekman (separated or divorced?) Chauncey's sister Bertha and her husband Abram Vye raised Marjorie.

Marjorie was raised by Chauncy's sister, Bertha Simons and her husband Abram Vye. Marjorie didn't find out that she was adopted until she was 35, and wrote the Vye's for clarification when she could find no record of her birth as Marjorie Vye in Oconto Co records. It was then the Vye's told her Chauncy Simons and Grandma Liz were her biological parents. After finding out, she wrote Grandma Liz in Hickory in 1936 and they corresponded for a few years until Marjorie passed in 1943. Marjorie stated in a letter to Grandma that Chauncy told her he was her father when she was about 20, but she thought he was drunk or crazy because she grew up thinking she was an only child.
Today, after some research, I found that Marjorie is buried in Tacoma, WA. I had earlier reported information that a Marjorie Simons had been buried in Austria. Apparently, that was not Grandma Liz's daughter..
Marjorie was married to Harry Riggs in about 1919, then ? Strickmen, and then William Spencer. William Spencer and Marjorie had one child, Jeanine Louise Spencer. (1934-2005).
