Bernard M. Gilligan

Bernard M. Gilligan, 78, Rt. 2, Suring, died Friday at home. He was born September 22, 1905, in the Town of Maple Valley and was a lifetime resident. On June 9, 1929, he married Lois Wood.

Mr. Gilligan, a carpenter and logger, was self-employed in the area all of his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Gilligan was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Suring.

Surviors include his wife, Lois; three daughters, Mrs. Cletus (Joan) Conrad, Lena; Mrs. Judy Blazek, and Mrs. Ray (Rosanne) Ostrenga, both of Oconto Falls; four sons, Lyle Gilligan, Sheboygan; Lee Gilligan, Green Bay; Jack and Dennis Gilligan, both of Gillett; one brother, Jerry Gilligan, Iron River, Mich; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Kesler, Kelly Lake; Mrs. Ellen (Lester) Ludeman, Laona; Mrs. Betty (Edward) Conley, Fond du lac; 26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

One brother(Donald) and one sister (Leola) preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Soulek-Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring, after 4 p.m. Sunday. Prayer service 8 p.m. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Suring, with the Rev. Frank Melchior officiating. Burial in Hickory Cemetery.
