YVONNE KOONTZ
Yvonne "Bonnie" Bell Koontz was born September 5, 1907, near Blue Mound and died August 5, 1986, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa. She was a daughter of Ebenezer Slocum and Ludell (Swisher) Dart. Yvonne was a member of Royal Neighbors and also The Wildlife Club where she taught hunter safety. She was married to Hillery Doyle Koontz in Garnett October 22, 1925. They resided in Garnett until 1941 when they moved to California. About 1945 the family returned to Kansas City. They retired to Ottawa in 1969. She is survived by her husband, Hillery Doyle; a son, Claron Koontz, Kansas City; sisters, Mrs. May Lilly, Ottawa, Mrs. Zona Smith, Lawrence, Mrs. Bernadine Tinsley, Wellsville, Mrs. Mary Maxey, Mrs. Vivian Haynes and Mrs. Blanche Brady, Garnett; and grandsons, Michael Glen, Stephen Lee, Robert Doyle and Mark Eric; and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services, held Friday, August 8, at Farris-Feuerbom Chapel, were officiated by Rev. John Wright. Music was by Jeanine Zentner. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Casketbearers were Edward Maxey, Stanley Maxey, Michael Koontz, Mark E. Koontz, Stephen Koontz and Robert Koontz.
