Nellie Mae Lilly dies Thursday
Nellie Mae Lilly, 90 of Ottawa, died Thursday, June 13,1991, at her home.
She was born October 23, 1900 at Blue Mound, to Ebenezer Slocum and LuDell (S wisher) Dart She has lived in Ottawa since 1934, moving there from Gamett. She has been a lifelong resident of Anderson and Franklin counties.
She married Ulysses Henry Lilly on May 20,1916 at Garnett. He died April 25, 1968.
She is survived by one son, Warren Lilly of Ottawa; five sisters, Zona Smith of Lawrence, Mary Maxie, Blanche Brady and Vivian Hanes, all of Garnett; Bernadine Tinsley, Wellsville; one great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by five sisters, two brothers and a grandson.
Funeral services were held (today) Monday, June 17,1991, at 2 p.m. and Dengel and Son Mortuary in Ottawa.
Burial will be in the Gamett Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, which may be left at the mortuary in Ottawa.
