Chambers M. Hooks, 86, of Kittanning RD 3, was dead on arrival at 6:30 p.m. yesterday at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning of an apparent heart attack. Born July 17, 1887 in Washington Township, he was a son of John A. and Barbara Ellen (John) Hooks. A retired employee of Allegheny River Mining Co., he was a member of United Mine Workers of America. Surviving are two sons, Morris and James R., both of Kittanning RD 3; two daughters, Grace Hooks of Kittanning RD3 and Mrs. Joseph (Janet) Bosco of Rural Valley; three brothers, Christopher of Huston, Tex., William and Homer, both of Adrian RD 1; three sisters, Mrs. Goldie Bowser of Worthington, Mrs. ADA Croyle of Cowansville and Mrs. Mabel Roofner of East Brady RD 1and five grandchildren. His wife Mable (Lasher) Hooks, died June 22, 1972. Hooks – Friends of Chambers M. Hooks, who died Jan. 2, 1974, will be received 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4, 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Walter G. Snyder Funeral Home, Cowansville, where service will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, with the Rev. Gerald Chelton, pastor of Limestone Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Church of God Cemetery. Arrangements by Snyder of Cowansville.
