Mrs. Barbara Ellen Hooks, wife of the late John A. Hooks, died at her home near Adrian Tuesday evening, June 24, 1941 at 7:15 o’clock after a lingering illness. Was aged 79 years, 2 months and 9 days. She is survived by seven sons and four daughters: Mrs. E. C. Johns, Adrian; Mrs. Wilbert Bowser, Worthington; Mrs. Fred Croyle, Reesedale; Mrs. Raymond Roofner, East Brady; Amos, Plummer, Pressie, William and Homer of Adrian; Chambers of Kittanning; and Christ of Charlotte, Texas. Mrs. Hooks was a faithful member of Bush Valley Brethren church, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 26, at 2:30 p.m. (DST) in charge of Rev. Walter C. Sell of Center Hill Church of the Brethren. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
