HASTINGS-- Funeral services for Mrs. J.A. Abbott, 57, who died in a local hospital Tuesday, will be held Friday at St. Joseph. She had resident here for the past 11 years.
Surviving are her husband: four sons, Joseph I. and W.J., both of St. Joseph; George W. of Hastings, and Benjamin B., U.S. Army stationed in Japan; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Voshell and Mrs. Clara Lippold, both of St. Joseph, and Genevieve, Hastings; one brother, four sisters and eight grandchildren.

Genevieve was listed as a 'Servant' to the head of household. Genevieve and Joseph have been married about one month, but Joseph was not listed in the household. Also living in the household was Genevieve's older sister, Jessie, who was listed as a 'Sister' on the record summary to the head of household, but upon opening the Census image, Jessie was also a 'Servant' and her occupation was 'Cook'.
Genevieve's occupation: Housemaid for Private Family.
Genevieve and Jessie's employer, John Landis was a lawyer.
