Bio

Hello and welcome to my page! I have been researching my family line's along with my now ex-husband's since 2003.

Surnames in my family are: Dixon (my maiden name), Gunn (my mom's maiden name), Miller, McMurry and Goodhue (my paternal side). Davis, Pounds, Swan and Griffith (my maternal side).

My ex-husbands surnames: Stephens, Musgrave and Alexander (his paternal side). Mossman and Richards (his maternal side).
... and probably much more.

One of my passions in genealogy, since I have about found all the branches in my own tree, is to research military personnel and try to connect those service men and women to their parents, children and siblings. I was a Army wife for 22 years and feel I have a calling to help those that gave so much for their country.

Also, when I can find a lead- I try my best to connect infants and children to their parents and siblings if I am able to find them. My mom had 4 siblings- 2 girls and 2 boys that died between 3 weeks old - 3 years old and it took a while to be able to find those aunts and uncles to connect them to my grandparents. We had an idea where they were buried, but for a while the records weren't available online until recently.

My maternal grandmother, Effie (Swan) Gunn kept her family tree records in her Bible and I briefly asked my paternal grandmother what she knew, my paternal grandmother was a very private person and didn't like talking about the past.
My (maternal) Grandma Gunn would have been amazed to know that so much information is available at our fingertips, now a days.

Thanks again for visiting and take care. :)
