William James Abbott, born and raised in St. Joseph, passed away in Springville, Utah.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Hoover Abbott; children, James Abbott and Connie Young; 10 grandchildren, and six and a half great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by twin sons, Ronald and Donald, as well as a daughter, Darla Kay.

Bill was an amateur radio broadcaster for sixty-five years. He also served as branch president for twelve years for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kearney, Nebraska.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, No. 7 North Carriage Dr., St. Joseph. Interment: Mount Auburn Cemetery.

Mr. Abbott will be removed from Meierhoffer Family Funeral Service to arrive at the church one hour prior to the service.
