Funeral services for Charles R Carney, 76, Massena at Sacred Heart Church in Massena. Arrangements with Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. Mr. Carney drowned Jul. 20, 1983 while fishing behind his home.
Surviving are his wife Rose; three sons, Paulo of Massena, John of East Dorset, VT, and Thomas of Johnson, VT; one brother Downer of Massena; four sisters, Mrs. Mable Dowe, Mrs. Mae Bloff both of Massena, Mrs. Evelyn Pringle of Vallisjou, CA and Mrs. Mildred Clark of Black River; 6 grandchildren. Mr. Carney was born in Massena on May 25, 1907, son of Orvill and Mary Prashaw Carney. He attended Massena schools and worked at the IGA in Massena Springs and worked at Alcoa from 1942-1971. He married Rose Cappiello on May 4, 1936 at Sacred Heart Church in Massena with Rev. Luker officiating.
