Services for Cordelia Merritt, age 85, Pittsboro, were Sunday in the Gregory Funeral Home, there. Elder Sherman Essex officiated. Burial was in the K. of P. Cemetery in Lizton.
Mrs. Merritt died August 25 in the Golden Rule Nursing Home in Danville. She was born Jan. 15, 1892. She was a member of the Concord Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jewell of Danville and Ercell of Pittsboro; a sister, Mrs. Dessie Pearcy of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
