Jeremiah Scott was a son of Archelaus and Tabitha Ann (Patrick) Scott. He married Mary E. Kivett in Hendricks County on Oct. 27, 1878.

Pittsboro - Aged Farmer Dies

Jeremiah Scott, age 82, a well known farmer of this vicinity, died Friday, at his home here. Funeral services were held at the home, Sunday afternoon, in charge of the Rev. Gilbert McCammack of Cloverdale. Interment was in the Lizton cemetery. The deceased was born near Belle Union, and when a child of only two the family moved to Boone county and later to a farm north of Pittsboro, where Mr. Scott had lived until four years ago when he, his wife and daughter moved to Pittsboro. In 1878, he married Mary E. Kivett. Surviving are the widow, six daughters and two sons, Mrs. Lula Dinsmore, Mrs. Ursa Layton, Mrs. Cordelia Merritt, Mrs. Ova Moore, Mrs. Harry Pearcy, Cecil and Clilla Scott; one brother, David Scott, and one sister, Mrs. Albert Allee, of Belle Union; nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
