Hope Marie Limmer, aged 94, died peacefully on September 4, at Covington Golden Living Center. She was born March 22, 1920, in Hartford, SD. She was the daughter of Carl and Lulu Schliemann.

Hope attended school in Hartford where she graduated 2 years early as the school valedictorian. On June 30, 1939, Hope was united in marriage with Carroll Anderson and together they raised 6 children in Sioux Falls, SD. She was a stay at home mom during this time and helped support the family by doing ironing for many families in the Sioux Falls community from 1950 – 1967. She worked at Dairy Queen from 1967 - 1977. After that she worked at Lewis Drugs and Younkers until her retirement in 1985.

She later married Harold Limmer on May 28, 1983 until his death in 2008. During their marriage they enjoyed going to Hart Ranch, traveling to visit family and spending quality time with their many grand kids. Harold was a true blessing to her and her family.

Hope had a very strong faith in God her entire life. For 20 years she was an organist at Memorial Lutheran Church. In 1973 she began attending Our Saviors Lutheran Church. While there she was part of the choir and was on the youth board. She also played organ at Luther Manor for many years. Activities that Hope enjoyed were the Arthritic Swim Club, reading, doing the Jumble and Word Find puzzles, going to movies, camping, and watching her favorite baseball team the TWINS with Harold. A big part of Hope’s life was being a member of the Sweet Adeline’s Chorus where she especially enjoyed singing bass with her quartet. One of her proudest accomplishments was being a part of Alcoholics Anonymous. She was very instrumental in getting many people into recovery.

Hope is survived by 6 children: Karen Schroeder, Sioux Falls, SD, Wayne (Sandy) Anderson, Rapid City, SD, James (Barb) Anderson, Robbinsdale, MN, Virginia Seaman, Burnsville, MN, Mark Anderson, Sioux Falls, SD, Penny (Tim) Foster, Sioux Falls, SD.
