Mr. Albert Marion Carter, Sr., of 1112 West Main Street, Honey Grove, was pronounced D.O.A. at McCuistion Hospital, Paris, at 7:40 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 1987.

He had been in failing health for the past six months.

Funeral services were held at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel, Honey Grove, at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27th, with Rev. Earl Castle and Rev. Willie Thomas Bevis officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery.

Grandsons and Great-grandsons served as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Carter was born September 30, 1903, a son of William Marion Carter and Barthena Aldridge.

He was married December 15, 1923, at Honey Grove to Stella Gertrude Bevis.

He was a retired farmer, chief of police, Honey Grove, Grocery Store Owner and operator, Farm Implement and Appliance Salesman and a T. V. Repairman. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Stella Carter of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Martha Inez Patterson of Fairfield, Mrs. Dorothy Mozelle Norris, Commerce, Mrs. Lorene Waller, Mesquite and Mrs. Gladys Sevenson of Irving; three sons, Roy Bevis Carter, Rockwall, Albert Marion Carter, Jr. of Garland, Aubrey Lynn Carter of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Robert Carter of Honey Grove and Amos Carter of Tom Bean; 12 Grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
