Gladys Fay Stevenson, 85, a resident of Irving since 1953, died Monday, September 7, 2020 at a Dallas hospital. Born March 28, 1935 in Honey Grove, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Albert Marion Carter and Stella Gertrude Bevis Carter. She married Raymond L. Stevenson September 7, 1952 in Rockwall, Texas. He preceded her in death November 29, 1997. A retired claims adjuster, she was Baptist.
Preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters and her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Barbara Prater of Irving; a son, Robert “Steve” Stevenson of Irving; five grandchildren, Lori Thompson, Justin Prater, Kelli Creger, Kristi Philpot, Lance Lewis, and Landon Daniell; seven great grandchildren, Chloe Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Emma-Leigh Creger, Garin Creger, Gavin Cook, Johnny Ray Philpot, and Wyatt Lewis; and by a brother, Aubrey Lynn Carter.
The family will receive friends 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd. in Irving.
