Jennie married a widower Tully Francis Slavin in Manhattan in 1903. She brought a daughter Jessie Marie (b. 1895) to the marriage. Together Tully and Jennie would raise five children, Arthur John (b. 1903), Paul Bernard (b.1906), Elizabeth Jean (b. 1910), Harold John (b.1912) and James Albert (b. 1916) in addition to Tully’s four surviving children (Catherine, William, Edward and Cornelia) from his first marriage to Ellen Martin.
The family lived in Yonkers and the Bronx where Tully worked as an electrician for the NY Central Railroad. Jennie’s sister, Lizzie Hughes lived with them until her death in 1917. Widowed in 1935, Jennie lived with her daughter Jessie in St. Albans, Queens, NY.
Jennie died on August 12, 1943 at her daughter Jess Donnelly's home in Queens from a heart attack and long term complications of diabetes. Her sons Arthur and Albert returned from home from their WWII military postings for her funeral. She was buried in Wiltwyck Cemetery in Kingston, NY close to her parents and sisters.
Most of her granddaughters have some form of Jane, Jennie, or Marie in their name.

Family lore: Jennie was the last surviving member of her family. The other family plot was full and she asked to be buried on an angle in order to close the plot to future burials. The stone is indeed on an angle to the rest of the stones.
