Rebecca Spach was the tenth of thirteen known children of Jacob Spach (1768-1856) and Sarah Tesch (became Tesh) (1772-1844), who married 31 Dec 1790 in North Carolina.

Johnna Ruth Cook Johnson, who kindly supplied the grave marker photo, transcribed the extremely difficult to read marker as: 09 Apr 1807 to 19 Jun 1848, and I will use these dates.

Rebecca married Matthias Sowers (1805-1886) in c1828 in presumably North Carolina. Rebecca and Matthias were the parents of nine known children, namely:

1. Alfred Sowers (1829-1894)
2. Lavinia Mary Sowers Reed (1830-1901)
3. Elisabeth Lucinda Sowers Barmes (1832-1919)
4. Emanuel Sowers (1834-1924)
5. Charles S. (or Landford?) Sowers (1836-1911)
6. Sarah Frances Sowers (1839-1854)
7. Lucy Ann Sowers Holder (1842-1927)
8. Nancy Emmeline Sowers Holder (1844-1914)
9. John Franklin Sowers (1846-1864)

After Rebecca died Matthias remarried to the widow Charlotte Maria Shore Reed/Reid (1820-1896) with whom he had a daughter Susan Sowers (b. c1859).
