John married to Catharine Mock (1800-1856) on 12 Nov 1822 at Friedberg, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. John and Catharine were the parents of three known children, namely:
1. Juliana Dulcena Spach Woosley (1823-1882)
2. Caroline Elisabeth Spaugh Burke (1827-1913)
3. Catherina Heckedorn Spach (1832-1836)
