Bio
LEAR, GELLOCK, MILLER, and FOOSE are the main surnames in my family tree.
The original German spellings were:
LOEHR, GERLACH, MULLER, and FUSS.
These are the maiden names which stem from each:
(Any names is parenthesis are the original spelling of that name it follows.)
LEAR: Margeson, Paddock, Clawson, Tappin, Gilmore (Kilmer), Gray, Wildonger, Maust, Gruver/Groover (Kruger), Long (Lang), Scholl, Deer, Mumbauer, and Schumacher
GELLOCK: Gellock [A Gellock married a Gellock], Walter, Walter [A Walter married a Walter], Yeager, Kocher, Messinger, Abel, Stoneback (Steinbach), Lee, Eckert, Keiter, Lott, Laycock, Belles, Buss, Ritter, Kuriss, Kahler, Werkheiser, Messinger (another), Diehl, Babb (Babp), and Riel
MILLER: Kohler, Riey, Mosel, Troxell, Rinker, Ealer, Dietz, Cramer, Newhart (Newhard), Traill, Rasley, Heller, Grotz, Luy, Schneider, and Schinhoven.
FOOSE: Altemus, Rinker, Smith, Heater, Furry, Leibengood (Leibenguth)/ Ackerman [not sure of an adoption/birth name], Bartholomew, Reimer, Frey, Kolb, Litgar, Bopp [changed to Pope], Lauer, Mauny, Hilliard (Hilgert), Reimel, Smith (Schmidt), Smith (Schmidt) [a Smith married a Smith], Miller (Mueller), Frantz, Sterner, Odenwelder, Rent(s), and Schuch
As I continue my research, I am adding more maiden names, but haven't necessarily researched them all thoroughly yet.
The majority of my family base is in PA, with many NJ extensions. My four main surnames all trace back to Germany, as well as many of the maiden names in my direct lines.

NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE
My paternal grandparents, John N. and Clara E. Gellock Lear were both Native American descendants.
JOHN NELSON LEAR: Family history states my grandfather's grandmother, Margaret M. Margeson (nee Clawson) was half Native American. Oral history passed down states that we have an Indian princess in the family tree. I believe this may have been referring to my gr8 x3 paternal grandmother, Catharine Tappin Clawson, who was Margaret's mother.
My father's first cousin told me that his mother (my grandfather's sister) told him that we have Indian blood in us. He also stated that his late mother and two brothers had Indian features.
CLARA ELIZABETH GELLOCK LEAR: Family history on my grandmother's side (Gellock) states we have Indian blood in us, but no one knows exactly who it comes from.

I have requested many memorials from inactive accounts. I greatly appreciate the time and effort they took to list my ancestors. It is truly an honor for me to carry on the torch and resume their management.
SPECIAL THANKS go out to all the find-a-grave contributors who have listed my ancestors and upon my request have transferred them to me, and to those who will grant future requests. I am ever so grateful for the time and effort you all have taken to create the memorials of my ancestors and how your listings have helped me connect many dots.
Not every single memorial I've listed is a blood relative. During the course of researching plots, I've come across some of the parents, siblings, etc., of the spouses of my ancestors, or other non-relatives who were buried with them, so I have listed them also in the hope of helping others in their genealogical search. However, my main agenda is to list my ancestors, not the ancestors of their spouses.
Please do send a request, via the edit tab, if you are interested in managing any of my memorials.
I will likely transfer memorials which are not in my direct line if they are in yours. Please check the memorial to see if their is a notation of them being in my direct line. You can also check my direct line virtual cemeteries for the surname of interest. If you don't see the memorial you are interested in managing listed there or noted as a direct relative, please submit your request (via the edit tab) and state your relationship.
Also if you have an interest in managing an ancestor of yours, who is not in your direct line, and who isn't in my direct line, please do submit a request (via the edit tab), I most likely will transfer it to you.
