Zella Mabel "Mae" Grubaugh was born 22 Jun 1880 in Perrysville, Ashland, OH to John Ramsey Grubaugh and Emma Jane Russell. She was the 2nd of 10 children born to this couple. She married Wilbert Leroy Mapes on 24 Dec 1897 in Loudonville, Ashland, OH. After a short stay in Knox County, OH, they moved to Akron, OH before 1910 and spent the rest of their lives in Akron. They had two children. They are listed on the memorial for Wilbert. "Mae" died on 1 Feb 1963 in Akron.
