Remains of Mrs. Emma Howell Wayne, age 96 years who died Sunday at the home of a relative in Louisville, was brought to Williams, Miller and Sego Funeral Home here.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at Pleasant Ridge Church, this county, and burial was in the church cemetery.
She had no immediate survivors.
She married John M. Wayne in 1897. He was born Dec 1862 and left Emma a widow before 1920. His burial location is not known.
In the 1900 Census for North Shelbyville, Shelby County, Kentucky, John M. Wayne was a farmer, age 37. His wife, Emma, was 39, b. Mar 1861. They have been married 3 years. No Children listed.
In the 1920 Census for Louisville, Kentucky, Emma Wayne was a housekeeper in the home of Ida Wathen. Emma was 59 years old and widowed.
In 1925 she was listed in the Louisville City Directory. She was a widow and lived at 2630 Woodland Avenue.
