Edward BARTHEL, 92, formerly of 1715 Van Buren, died Monday afternoon at a Topeka nursing home. He was born April 12, 1865, in Ontario, Canada, and came to the United State when he was 21 years old. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Deaf Lutheran Church. His wife died three years ago.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Minnie JACKSON, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Effie BURDICK, Topeka; and Mrs. Ora MATHER, North Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, William BARTHEL, Golden, Colo.; and Fay BARTHEL, Denver, Colo.; four brothers, The Rev. George F. BARTHEL, Ontario, Canada; the Rev. Benjamin BARTHEL, Denver, Colo.; Gideon BARTHEL, Emporia and Henry BARTHEL of Texas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
