The Miller brothers of this placed received the news of the death of their brother, Joseph Miller, 82, whose death occurred Friday morning at 2:50 in the hospital in Los Angeles, Calif, after several weeks serious illness which terminated in a major operation two weeks ago.

Mr Miller was born August 20, 1861, in Union township, one of a family of nine children, eight boys and a girl, their parents, the Rev Daniel and Susie (Ganger) Miller (deceased).

He was reared to manhood in this vicinity and followed the thrashing business in his younger life. His first marriage was to Saloma Shaum, and a son, Lawrence, and daughter, Lulu, were born. After the death of Mrs. Miller, he went to Los Angeles, Calif, to reside and there he entered the real estate and insurance business, which he practiced until he retired several years ago.

Mr Miller's second marriage, forty years ago, was to Anna Bolen. A daughter, Bernice, was born to this union, who survives with the widow and two children of the former marriage.

Although Mr Miller chose California for his home, he missed very few years during the past forty, to visit his folks and old friends in the vicinity of his birth place. Many of these trips were made in automobile. Last summer he spent eight weeks with the Miller families.

Besides the widow, a son, Lawrence, and daughter, Mrs Leonard (Bernice) Tonto of California, and daughter, Miss Lulu Miller, Logansport, he is survived by six brothers, the Rev David Miller of Nappanee, Jacob and the Rev Leander Miller of Wakarusa, Daniel Miller of Camden, Ind, Josiah Miller of Goshen and the Rev William Miller of Nappanee.

Funeral and burial will be made in California.
