Word was received in Wakarusa Wednesday of the sudden passing of Rev David Miller, 72, of Goshen, a former resident of this community and a minister of the Gospel in the Church of the Brethren for many years. Death was due to a heart attack, which came suddenly Wednesday morning at 4 o'clock in the home of his granddaughters, Mrs Zera Blickenstaff, formerly Mary Elizabeth Metzler, in Akron, Ind, where he and Mrs Miller had been visiting since Monday.

Sunday evening Rev Miller spoke at the Wakarusa Church of the Brethren and after the service he and Mrs Miller were luncheon guests in the home of Rev and Mrs Christian Metzler.

He was born in Union township, the son of Daniel and Susan (Ganger) Miller in 1875, on the Miller homestead which he owned and where he lived for many years.

He was married to Elizabeth Bechtel, May 19, 1895.

He was a minister of the Union Center Church of the Brethren southeast of Wakarusa, until they moved to the Goshen residence on 323 Dewey avenue in 1945.

Surviving with the widow are three daughters, Mrs Roy (Amanda) Metzler of South Bend, Mrs Louis (Edna) Lineback of Lakeville, Mrs Howard (Catherine) Stark of Goshen, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Leander of Wakarusa, Daniel of Camden, and Josiah of Goshen.

One daughter, Edith, preceded him in death at the age of 3 years.

Funeral arrangements have not been made as we go to press.
