September 17th, 1854, she was united in marriage to Daniel S Miller. To this union were born nine children, one daughter and eight sons, all of whom are living. Her husband preceded her to the Spirit world nearly twenty-eight years ago.
She united with the old German Baptist church in early life and lived a consistent Christian life to the end. She had been an invalid for twelve years. Nine weeks ago, she fell and broke her hip. Since that time she gradually went down until death claimed her. She remembered the instruction of the Apostal James and was anointed with oil in the name of the Lord. After she had been anointed she repeated one of her favorite hymns, "Oh When Shall I See Jesus and Dwell With Him Above."
The nine children born to them are as follows: a daughter, Mary N Miller, of Wakarusa; eight sons, Josiah Miller of Goshen, Joseph Miller of Los Angeles, Calif, Jacob and William A Miller of Wakarusa, Daniel M Miller of Delphi, Ind, Leander, Alpha and David Miller all of Wakarusa: also one sister, Mrs. Nancy Roose; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and many relatives and friends. We mourn not as those who have no hope, for we feel our loss is her great gain.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Union Brick church, Rev Custer of North Manchester, officiating. About 400 people were unable to get into the church.
Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: Ora Near and wife, Mrs Roy Blocher, Mrs Masiah Blocher and Albert Lewis of Silver Lake, Ind, Jacob Wagner and Amos Wagner and wives of Rossville, Ind, Amzey Miller, Perry Miller, Daniel Miller and wives, Christ Miller, Silas Yost and families of Camden, Ind; Emry Cook, Abe Custer and wives of North Manchester, Ind; Jess Wagner and Simon Blocher and wives of Surrey, North Dakota.
