The Rev Leander Miller, 82, retired pastor of the Morningstar Baptist church died Thursday morning in his home southeast of Wakarusa.
He was born in Union township December 17, 1869, the son of Daniel and Susan (Ganger) Miller.
He was married in 1890 to Clara Wise, who died several years ago.
The Rev Miller retired seven years ago after serving as church pastor for 57 years.
He is survived by a son, Harvey of Wakarusa, two daughters, Mrs Enos Wenger of Goshen and Bertha, at home. A brother, Daniel of Camden; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The body was taken from the Lienhart Funeral home to the Miller home where friends were received until the hour of the funeral at 1:30 Sunday in the home and at 2 pm at the Morningstar Baptist church with the Rev. C A Custer of North Manchester in charge. Burial in Yellow Creek cemetery.
