George Washington Seela came to Parker County, Texas with his parents in 1855. He remained on the Isaac Seela homestead his entire life, purchasing it from the other heirs after his father's death. He built the first house built of sawed lumber on the Seela farm. It was built from lumber obtained by purchasing an old unused church building that sat on a tract of land adjacent to his farm.
George Washington Seela married Lida Maloria Kingsford, daughter of James Kingsford and Martha Mugg, on July 21, 1881 in Parker County, TX. They had 2 children: George Franklin and Charley. Lida died in 1886. George married her sister, Clara Belle Kingsford on December 31, 1889 in Parker County, TX. They had 5 children: Ramy Leovine, Willie Martha, James Newton, Pearl Belle, and Hughie Maude.
