widow of Wilson Jacob West, around 1870-72,probably in Parker County, Texas. Emily was born September 30, 1839 in Texas and died September 2, 1898 in Parker County. Jacob served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He was a private in Company M, First Texas Legion (also known as the Twenty-Seventh Regiment of Texas Cavalry and Whitfield's Legion). He enlisted at Halletsville,
Texas, on January 1, 1862, and was discharged in 1865. He applied for a pension in December, 1915 while living in Moran, Shackleford County, Texas. Jacob's marker shows a birth date of June 20, 1839 while three census records place his birth in 1834/1835.
