Isaac Seela, Jr. homesteaded land adjoining his father's farm in Parker County, Texas. Isaac married Susan J. (Vess) Seela b ca 1838 in Jackson County, TX on December 13, 1856. Very little has been found on the younger Isaac. The only factual information is that he enlisted in the Confederate Army at Galveston, Texas, on October 12, 1861, for the period of the war. He enlisted as a private in Company "K", Second Regiment, Texas Infantry, and appeared on company muster rolls for March through June, 1862. He was wounded at the Battle of Shiloh. On the roll for June appeared the notation "Died in hospital in Okolona, June 15, 1862." Note: The Battle of Shiloh took place north of Okalona and Corinth, Mississippi, during this period. The Second Texas Infantry took part in these engagements.
