Sarah Seela married Robert D. Gayle in 1855, probably in Parker County, Texas. Robert was born in 1829 in Rutherford County, Tennessee. Robert D. Gayle served in the 25th Regiment, Texas Cavalry, C. S. A. and lost an arm in the Battle of Franklin, Tennessee on December 1, 1864. He died in a hospital at Nashville, Tennessee on April 23, 1865 as a result of being wounded. Sarah married T. B. Wheeler. Sarah was living in Jasper County, MO in 1874. After her daughter, Nancy, married William Roland Lewis, they moved to Van Buren, Arkansas. While working with transplanting strawberry plants at a berry farm, she had pneumonia, died around 1898, and was buried in a small cemetery on a farm in Crawford County, Arkansas.
