Francis S. Geiger, of 521 Highland avenue, Kittanning, Pa., passed away Friday, March 4, 1938, at 3:45 a.m. following a lingering illness. He was born April 21, 1874, near Echo. He retired a few months ago from the U.S. Government Service as a mail carrier of this city, having served in that capacity 38 years. He will be sadly missed by his host of friends.
Mr. Geiger was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran church of this place, and a Brother also of the Maccabee Lodge.
Surviving him is his wife, Eva Hetrick Geiger; Mrs. Bertha Burford, Mrs. Mabel Morrow, both of New Kensington; Mrs. Grace Hockenberry, of Kittanning and Helen, at home; five grandchildren; also the following brothers and sisters, J. Ed. Geiger, of New Kensington; Turney C. Geiger, H. Clinton Geiger, W. Charles Geiger, Mrs. Rose Foster, Mrs. Dessie Bowser, Mrs. Laura Weaver, Mrs. Pearl Bittinger, of Kittanning; Mrs. Ella Schrecengost, New Castel and O. S. Geiger, of Rural Valley.
Funeral services will be held at the late residence Sunday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m. and will be conducted by the Rev George N. Lauffer, D.D. of St. John's Lutheran church.
Following the funeral services for Francis S. Geiger, of 521 Highland avenue, on Sunday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m. at the late home, interment will be made in the Kittanning cemetery.
