W. Charles Geiger, 70, of 1042 Wilson Ave., Kittanning, died at 9:45 a.m. today (April 10, 1959) in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, where he was a patient for one day. A retired postal employee, he had spent his entire life in this community. He was retired in 1950 after 28 years' service at Kittanning post office. Born June 19, 1888, in Cowanshannock Twp, he was a son of the late Benjamin T. and Angeline McIntire Geiger. He held memberships with the Woodmen of the World and with the First Baptist Church, Kittanning. He is survived by his wife, Meadie C. [Cunningham] Geiger; two daughters, Mrs. Paul L. (Agnes) Hooks of Kittanning and Mrs. H.W. (Jean) Christie of Grove City; three brothers, Edwin of Orange Park, FL, Clinton of Kittanning, and O.S. [Shields] of Echo; four sisters—Mrs. Rose Foster of Kittanning RD 2, Mrs. W.A. [Dessie] Bowser of Kittanning RD2, Mrs. Ella Schreckengost of New Castle, and Mrs. Boyd [Laura] Weaver of Rose Valley; and three grandchildren.
Friends will be received after 7 tonight at the Bauer Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Ralph Newell. Interment will be held in Kittanning Cemetery.
