June 5, 1975:
Oscar Shields Geiger, 90, of Kittanning RD5, died at 3:40 p.m. yesterday at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born August 27, 1886, at Echo, the son of Benjamin T. and Angeline (McIntire) Geiger and spent his whole life in this area. A retired insurance agent, he began working in that field in 1918.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Peters of Kittanning RD 5, with whom he made his home; sisters Mrs. Boyd Weaver, also of Kittanning RD 5; and Mrs. Ella Schrecongost of New Castle; four grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. His wife, Virginia (Cogley) Geiger died in 1956.
