Henry Perkinson, well-known Larchwood resident, died at his home there Friday [August 5, 1960] of a heart attack while fighting a fire caused by lightening.
Funeral mass was held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Lynch of Barnum, a nephew, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Fr. LeRoy Frank. Rosaries were held Saturday and Sunday evenings, with the Sunday, evening rosaries by St. Mary's parish, Catholic Order of Foresters and Knights of Columbus.
Henry Perkinson was born July 26, 1887 in South Dakota, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Perkinson. He had lived in the Larchwood area 34 years. He was married to Mamie Hughes July 7 1909.
Mr. Perkinson had been active in the work of the Church, in the town council at Larchwood, and in Chamber of Commerce activities.
Survivors include the widow, Mamie; a son Regus of Victorville, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Marcella Lyon of Santa Maria, Calif., and Mrs. Mildred Clercx of Larchwood; six grandchildren; three brothers Martin, James and John; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Castle; Mrs. Katherine Thompson; Mrs. Agnes Aslin and Mrs. Bess Jenkins.
Honorary pallbearers were William Bruggeman, Joe Nicolai, James Phelan, Roy Viereck, Clarence Ripperda, William Hecht, Henry Van Ash, Max Middlen, George Schreurs and Russell Wyant. Pallbearers were Robert Breuer, Raphael Anderson, Ronald Kramer, Emil Bjork, Rollie Viereck and Paul Bruggeman.
