DIED at his home in Metz, Ind., August 27, 1892, John Sickles, aged 72 years, 11 months and 3 days.

Deceased was born in Harrison county, Ohio, September 14, 1819; he was united in marriage to Miss Lydia Fisher, September 26, 1841, who with their four sons and two daughters, survive him three children having preceded him to the better land.

Mr. Sickles gave his heart to God and joined the U. B. Church about thirty-five years ago and has been a consistent Christian since, and a member of Mt. Pleasant class since its organization in 1857. His place at prayer meeting and public worship was never vacant unless prevented by unavoidable circumstances.

During his long illness he often expressed a willingness to depart; of a pleasant disposition; always kind and generous; always exhibiting a forgiving spirit, none will be more missed than he.
