Ollie Byrd, age 101 of Helenwood passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Scott County.

Born August 13, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Rosetta Welch Byrd. A life long resident of Scott County, Mrs. Byrd was a born again Christian of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and caring person, always trying to help others. She loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents he was preceded in death by three sisters; Ada Goad, Lennie Cochran, and Telda Byrd, four brothers; General (Buddy) Byrd, Willard Byrd, Elvin Byrd, and Milford Byrd.

Ollie is survived by one daughter; Anna Rose Moore and husband Earl of Helenwood, one son; Freddie Bryd of Robbins, two granddaughters; Marsha Moore of Helenwood, Nicole Litton and husband Matthew of Robbins, three grandsons; Terry Moore and wife Briget of Robbins, Trent Byrd and wife Jessica of Robbins, Shawn Moore of Indianapolis, IN, one great granddaughter; Lantana Litton of Robbins, three great grandsons; Jordan Moore, Cameron Moore, and Gage Litton of Robbins, two very special little girls she considered great granddaughters, Christie and Kessa Edmonds, a special friend Charles Edmonds, caregiver and special friend Jessica Williams, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other friends and relatives.

Friends may visit with the Byrd family on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 12 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Bertram officiating. Music will be provided by Jimmy and Sarah Byrd. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery in Robbins.
