Milford Byrd, age 75, of the Huntsville Manor Nursing Home and formerly of Robbins, died December 12, 1995, at the Scott County Hospital. Born in Robbins, Tenn., September 25, 1920, he was the son of the late Sherman and Rosetta Byrd. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elvin and General "Buddy" Byrd, and two sisters, Ada Goad and Tillie Byrd. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of World War II and had served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by two sisters: Ollie Byrd and Lennie Cochran of Robbins, One brother, Willard Byrd of Muncie, Ind.; thirteen nieces and seven nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted December 15, 1995, at the West-Murley Funeral Home with Revs. David Walker and Richard Kimbrell officiating. Morris and Shirley Chambers sang. Interment followed in the Love Chapel Cemetery.

The Oneida American Legion Post #136 was in charge of full military honors at the graveside. Pallbearers were: Freddie Byrd, Earl Moore, Trent Byrd, Wendell Cochran, Shawn Moore, and Randall Kimbrell. West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
