Anna Maria Schroeder was the daughter of Carl Freidrich Schroeder and Dorothea E Zimmerman.

Her parents had immigrated from Germany about 1860 (Carl) and 1866 (Dorothea), married in Milton Junction, Rock County, Wisconsin in 1868, and moved to Rolling, Langlade County about 1879. They established a successful farm there and had 11 children.

Anna attended the Hillside School in Rolling, which was constructed about 1893.

Anna married George R Johnson, the son of Rasmus Johnson and Mary Maria Jorgenson, immigrants from Denmark, on June 8, 1916.

The couple lived in Enterprise, Oneida, Wisconsin, Wheeling, Cook, Illinois, and Sheboygan Falls, Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

The couple had four four children, including Beth (Paul) Servi, and Carol (Harold) Nass.
