Frank Schroeder, Pioneer County Resident, Dies
Frank Schroeder, 80, pioneer resident of Langlade county, died at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at his home in the town of Rolling. He had been failing health fora number of years, and was confined to his bed the past week.
Mr. Schroeder was born Feb 10, 1869, at Milford Junction, Rock county. He came to Langlade county with his parents in the early spring of 1879, the family homesteading in the town of Rolling.
At the time of his marriage, Mar. 16, 1897, to Rose Lenzner, Mr. Schroeder moved to the land adjoining his father's farm, and with his wife proceeded to hew a farm from the wilderness. He himself built the home that he and his wife had planned. When Mr. Schroeder's wife died on Mar. 4, 1938, he continued to reside on the home farm with his son Bernard.
Interested in the welfare of his community, Mr. Schroeder served on his local school board for many years, and was instrumental in getting the present Hill side school built.
