Ella moved from Pennsylvania to Kansas with her parents in 1877 when she was 18. She married John Storey in 1880, and they established a farm just west of Freeport. They remained there until they retired, and then removed to Wichita. John and Ella had eight children, four dying in infancy. Of the four surviving children, many descendants remain today.

Obituary:

Mrs. Ella S. Storey, 79, 3204 Chatfield Place, died Monday in a local hospital. She was the widow of John Storey, retired farmer who died here in 1936.

Mrs. Storey came to Kansas with her parents in 1877. She married Mr. Storey here in 1880 and three years later went with him to Harper County where they made their home until 18 years ago when they returned here from Freeport. She was a member of the First Nazarene Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Esther Litwiller at the home, Mrs. Mayme Hoopes, Anthony, and Mrs. Edna Crumley, Cushing, Okla., a son Thomas G. Storey, Beardstown, Ill., two brothers, G. W. Downing, Wichita, and W. S. downing, Anthony, 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Byrd & Snodgrass Mortuary.
