OBIT:
John Storey, 79, prominent Harper County farmer and stockman for years, died Thursday evening at his home, 3204 Chatfield Place, following a short illness.
A native of Cheno, Ill., Mr. Storey came to Kansas more than half a century ago. He proved a claim near Freeport and resided there until 1920 when he came to Wichita to make his home. He was a member of the College Hill Methodist Episcopal Church and was a regular attendant.
Mr. Storey is survived by his wife, Ella S. at home; one son, Thomas G., Beardstown, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Esther Litwiller, 3204 Chatfield Place, Mrs. Melvin S. Hoopes, Anthony, Kan., and Mrs. Homer G. Crumley, Cushing, Okla.; one brother, Bennett, Mulvane, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Susie Shellenberger, Corwin, Kan.; and 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Lahey & Martin mortuary. Burial will be in the Freeport, Kan., cemetery.
