Mathias V. Bertram
Funeral services for Mathias V. Bertram, 79, Route 2, Malone, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg.

The Rev. Robert Bier will officate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

He died at 11:50 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7, 1980, at St. Agnes Hospital.

He was born Jan. 1, 1901, in Medford, a son of Anton and Rose Schmitz Bertram. He married Selma Schmitz on Sept. 27, 1937, in Johnsburg.

Mr. Bertram was a member of the Holy Name Society at St. John the Baptist church and he farmed in Malone area most of his life.

He is survived by his wife: two daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Dolores) Schmitz, St. Cloud, and Mrs. Gerald (Bernice)Schmitz, St. Peter; one son, Anthony of Malone: six brothers, Alex and Alfonse, both of Fond du Lac, Fred of Johnsburg, Alois, Henry and Edwin, all of St. Peter; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Frances) Vandergrinten of Eden, Mrs. Ambrose (Julia) Braun of North Fond du Lac; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by four brothers.
